The 7 Capacities of Being-Centered Leadership

  1. Presence:

Being with what is, as it is presenting it the NOW moment. Not trying to fight what is. The present moment is the only moment there is and the only place to take action from.

  2. Inner Awareness:

Drawing attention inward to notice thought patterns, beliefs, inner motivations, triggers, and conditioning within oneself. Bringing a sense of curiosity to one’s inner psychic experience. The recognition that everything that is occurring in the external world is a mirror to what is first being created internally, within you.

  3. Embodiment:

Learning to translate the sensations, emotions and signals you are receiving from your body. Developing intuition and energetic sensitivity. Bringing awareness of what you’re sensing and feeling in the moment, without judgment so that you can receive inner guidance and trust in your decision-making process.

  4. Deep Listening:

Listening–to yourself and others–from an open mind and open heart, for what is being expressed verbally and nonverbally. Suspending self-oriented reactive thinking in conversation and opening one’s awareness to the unknown or unexpected in another. Listening to others with a curious awareness to understand their perspectives, beliefs, and worldviews without judgment. Listening to understand, not just to respond.

  5. Holding Space:

Conscious and deliberate act of being present, open, and allowing, and mindful of what another person needs in each moment. When you hold space, as an act of nonjudgmental, supportive presence, you are “being with” yourself or “being with” another person without trying to fix or change anything. You must learn to hold space for yourself before effectively holding a container of empathy for others.

  6. Aligned Action:

Learning to master “Doing from Being.” Taking actions from an aligned state. Your actions become an expression of your being and are authentic to you at the soul level.

  7. Honoring Beingness:

Recognizing your and others' sacred gifts and the uniqueness of every soul's journey. The recognition that we are all souls experiencing life as a human being in action.
